Luang Prabang was the former capital of Lanexang kingdom during the 13 th to 16 th century. It is located in the northern or Laos, LunagPrabang is around 360 kilometers from Vientiane, the capital of Laos its takes 8 hours by bus or 35 minutes by Lao Airlines to reach and it is one of the most attractive areas of the country.

Nested in the valley. Surrounded by high mountains and situated along the Mekong and its tributaries, the town was once the former capital of Laos , during the Lanexang kingdom from the 13 th to 16 th centuries.

LuangPrabang is renowned as the cultural and religious capital of Laos . On the 2nd December 1995 , UNESCO inscribed the town on to it's world Heritage List, ensuring the preservation of a mixture of traditional Lao and French colonial architecture. The unique character and charm of LuangPrabang helps to make it the one of the most popular tourist destination in the country. The magnificent temples in LuangPrabang are considered among the most beautiful in South East Asia .

It is increasingly popular for both Lao and foreign tourists to visit LuangPrabang for Pimai Lao (the New Year Festival) which takes place in mid April. The boat racing festival, which takes place in August, is also celebrated with an emphasis on features that are unique from other regions in Laos .
